BC’s lineup exploded for 16 hits against the Wolfpack, pulling out an 8-3 win with Pete Frates and his family in attendance.

The North Carolina lineup picked apart both Dan Metzdorf and Brian Rapp in Sunday’s doubleheader. Before long, the games were effectively over, and BC was forced to attempt a desperate and unrealistic comeback.
It couldn’t have started any better for BC. With a full count, Donovan Casey homered over the left-field fence, setting the tone for the Eagles’ 5-1 victory over Northeastern in the Beanpot semifinal.
For most of the weekend, Virginia Tech exposed BC’s pitching staff, recording an assortment of extra-base hits. And even when the offense was limited, like on Sunday, it found a way to pull through at the right time.
