Watch: FACES Council Produces ‘Open Letter’ On Racial Injustice

Updated Dec. 12, 5:29 p.m.: In the light of recent student protests on campus, the FACES Council produced a YouTube video seeking to raise awareness at BC on issues of racial injustice. “Open Letter” is FACES’ response to the recent student protests on the deaths of Eric Garner and Michael Brown, as well as the campus’ reaction to it. FACES is an on-campus organization that aims to address issues of racism at BC.

“Our mission as FACES is to educate and facilitate conversation,” said Cam McEwen, co-director of the FACES Council and A&S ’15, in regards to the video. “So I would say the goal was more to challenge the BC community to think about and engage with these issues, and see how police brutality toward black men and women is a social justice issue which affects all of us.”
