NLRB Rules Against BC’s Motion to Stay Union Election

The National Labor Relations Board ruled on Monday against a motion by Boston College to stay the Graduate Employees Union election, scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, over establishing collective bargaining rights with the University.

NLRB members Mark Gaston Pearce and Lauren McFerran joined in denying the stay, with NLRB chair Philip A. Miscimarra dissenting.

The election, which would have gone on as planned had the NLRB not ruled in time, will officially continue despite BC’s motion.
