Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh, WCAS ’09, tweeted today that Sept. 5, 2017 is Pete Frates Day in the city. Citing his work in fighting against ALS and mobilizing a “global army” through the Ice Bucket Challenge, Walsh’s proclamation said “the City of Boston, the ALS community, and organizations around the world acknowledge the historic contribution and positive impact that Pete Frates has made in bringing people of different races, religions, and cultures together in an effort to help mankind.”
