Voting for the primaries of the 2013-14 UGBC president and vice president is closed, and one team has been eliminated from the running.
Three teams were on the OrgSync ballot for the primary elections: Tim Koch, A&S ’14, and Chris “Trugs” Truglio, CSOM ’14, running under the slogan “In Tim and Trugs We Trust”; Molly McCathy and Ricky Knapp, both A&S ’14, with the motto “Believe in BC”; and Matt Nacier and Matt Alonsozana, both A&S ’14, under the campaign slogan “Forward With U.”
Out of 9,110 Boston College undergraduates, 3,565 voted in the primaries, which began on Mar. 25 and ended at midnight on Mar. 26. Of the students who voted, 41 percent cast their votes for the Nacier-Alonsozana team, 32 percent voted for the Koch-Truglio team, and the remaining 27 percent voted for the McCarthy-Knapp team.
Koch and Truglio and Nacier and Alonsozana garnered the most votes, and now move onto the last round of the elections. Due to the condensed schedule of this year’s elections season, campaigning for the final round of voting will begin today and last through Easter break until April 5. Final voting will take place on OrgSync during April 4 and April 5.
