Boston College’s 25th Pops on the Heights scholarship gala, scheduled this year for Sept. 29, will feature composer John Williams, singer Jennifer Hudson, and actor Chris O’Donnell, BC ’92, in addition to the Boston Pops with conductor Keith Lockhart.
Williams, one of the most celebrated film composers in history with 50 Oscar nominations, will receive the President’s Medal for Excellence. Hudson, an American Idol alumna and an Academy Award winner in her film debut for Dreamgirls, will perform with the Pops. O’Donnell will chair the medal ceremony at the gala.
Pops on the Heights was founded in 1993 by Barbara and Jim Cleary and is the University’s biggest fundraiser, with nearly $22 million going toward 800 scholarships.
