The editorial board of The Heights is composed of a group of elected Heights editors. They are responsible for discussing and writing editorials, which represent the opinion of the newspaper.

When moving off campus, students face a number of difficulties inherent in the process itself. On top of that, they must deal with the added anxiety of pressure from fellow students to sign a house early. Together, this makes finding off-campus housing difficult and unpleasant.
Yesterday’s BC Ignites brought mental health, a difficult topic to discuss, to the forefront of conversation on O’Neill Plaza. Coupled with some of UGBC’s other new initiatives, this public discussion can work to decrease the stigma associated with mental illness on campus.
The University’s recently established Institute for Advanced Jesuit Studies will advance the Jesuit mission and establish BC as a national hub for research on Jesuits.
It is encouraging to see UGBC stage a BC Ignites on mental health, an issue often overlooked in higher education. Students should make a point to stop by on Wednesday in O’Neill Plaza.
Although Teach for America draws a lot of BC seniors, it is program that needs rethinking, in light of the many reports exposing its lack of impact.
The new Center for Teaching Excellence creates a central location on campus with resources and training for professors and graduate students to create a better classroom experience.
The FCC is currently in the process of determining new regulations, which could radically change how the Internet functions and affect the everyday lives of all BC students.
The new initiatives of the Women’s Center, along with its scheduled move to Maloney Hall, promise to make it more effective at serving BC students.
In both the new SuperFan Zone before the game and the football game itself, BC successfully created an atmosphere around the game that complimented the upset over the Trojans.
The city of Boston and Boston College are both taking steps to address the problems with off-campus housing. It is a good start, but more work is needed to fix Boston’s broken housing.
