With a candid look at suicide, the stigma surrounding it, and the depression that may accompany it, Every Brilliant Thing captures the viewer’s attention using only the relatability and resilience of the human spirit that Adrianne Krstansky so incredibly channels.
The brief contends that MIT should not be held responsible because it sets a precedent that university employees, even those without mental health expertise, are responsible for detecting students at risk of taking their own lives.

Michael Gannon, a sophomore in the Carroll School of Management (CSOM) from Lake Forest, Ill., was found dead in his Walsh Hall dorm room on Saturday, April 28. The cause of death has not yet been determined, but police have ruled out foul play. Gannon was a member of both the Boston College swim team and the water polo team.
