Will Martino, Editor-in-Chief: I’m thankful for my family, my friends, and all the opportunities I’ve been afforded at Boston College. I’m more thankful than I can say for each editor on our board. Despite their responsibilities, which are excessive and spectacular, they offer their wholehearted dedication to our newspaper and, against their better judgements, trusted me to lead it for the past year.
Jack Beckman, Managing Editor: I’m thankful for The Heights—for the people who inspire me and whom I’m lucky to call friends, for the long nights spent in Mac 113, and for the experiences I know I’ll cherish long after Thanksgiving. I’m also grateful for my two dogs, Bella and Porto, for friends abroad and at 93 Undine, and for my endlessly supportive family, without whom nothing else would be possible.
Ben Haddad, General Manager: I’m thankful for the Plex and all the random but fun activities you can do when you go (especially ping pong).
Aidan Gravina, Deputy Managing Editor: I am thankful, first and foremost, for my family and my girlfriend, who are my most important pillars of support. I am also thankful for my education, my good health, and all the lifelong friends I have made through The Heights.
Callie Oxford, Creative Director: I’m thankful for my family, my friends, my precious dog Fitz, and the Diet Coke that gets me through the week.
Angelina Li, Digital Director: I’m so thankful for my family, my lifelong friends who make BC feel like home, and the Res walks and coffee that make even the smallest moments feel special. I’m grateful for my education and for The Heights, which has given me an outlet to explore a side of myself that feels completely separate from my career plans.
Annika Engelbrecht, News Editor: I’m incredibly thankful for 54 Crosby—the memories, hours spent watching The Great British Baking Show, and the people it brought into my life. I’m grateful for the roof over my head and for being so close to family. I’m so thankful for The Heights, which has provided me with the most rewarding experiences, the best people, and a second home inside Mac 113.
Maria Stefanoudakis, Sports Editor: I’m thankful for my siblings, Starbucks sugar cookie lattes, and Nikola Jokic. I’m also thankful for every single person in Mac 113 over the past two years!
Veronica Pierce, Magazine Editor: I’m thankful for my Heights family that has stuck by me for three years, my friends abroad and at 50 Kirkwood, my family in Nashville and Boston, Taco Bell, and for everyone that has made my life so special.
Genevieve Morrison, Newton Editor: My fiercely loving family is the reason why Thanksgiving has long been my favorite holiday. I cherish every moment I get to spend with them. And almost as importantly, I’m grateful for everyone listed here for the laughter, inspiration, and letting me take aux in the newsroom most Sundays.
Maddie Mulligan, Arts Editor: I’m thankful for 43 South St., Mac 113, Westwood, Mass., and the people who make these places so special to me. I’m also thankful for those abroad and for FaceTime, which has shrunk the thousands of miles between us.
Ava Sjursen, Opinions Editor: I’m thankful for everyone on The Heights, the fact that there’s not one but two Wicked movies, and late-night Res walks.
Lucy Freeman, Projects Editor: I’m thankful for friends and family, my education, and the wonderful community that BC has brought to me. I’m grateful for my health and the chance to go on family walks with my dog, Finbar. I am also thankful for the last three years on The Heights, which taught me how to work hard, laugh a lot, and use my grammar skills for the common good.
Sarah Fleming, Photo Editor: I’m thankful for my family and friends and any time I get to spend with them. I’m also immensely grateful for the past 3.5 years at BC and the amazing people I’ve met here.
Ali Zahm, Video Editor: I’m thankful for good food—trying new restaurants with friends, cooking with family, learning about new cuisines. It is a bonding experience.
Ashi Jindal, Graphics Editor: I’m endlessly thankful for my incredible friends and family, both in Boston and back home. I’m also extremely grateful for the TV in my living room, and to my roommates for tolerating my constant rotation of Veep episodes and NPR Tiny Desk concerts.
Kathy Lu, Podcast Editor: I am thankful for family, friends, Gonk housemates, the McMullen, wired headphones, oysters, the brick wall in my room, and Mac 113 for making my last board year so memorable … It’s not easy running a one-woman show.
Charlie Phillips, Online Manager: I’m thankful for all my friends and family, and all the laughs we have shared this past year. It’s quite the time to be alive.
Nanati Getachew, Social Media Director: I’m so thankful for all the people I’ve met and gotten to know and love this past year. I am forever thankful for Coro Cafe, Vandy 604, and my mom dropping food off when BC Dining fails me. I’m forever thankful for my family, who I’m fortunate to have so close by.
Paige Folli, Newsletter Editor: I’m grateful to everyone on the Heights for taking me in and showing me how much hard work and passion go into this newspaper. I’m also grateful for all of the people I have met at BC, all of my friends, and my family back home.
