Colleges must remodel their admissions models by considering all factors of student potential. I am not arguing that the traditional standardized tests and grading scales should be thrown out, but it would be extremely beneficial for academic institutions to advertise metrics besides the classic ones like acceptance rates.
Boston College accepted 9,500 students from a total pool of 35,500. Total applications rose over 14 percent from last year.
Total applications fell 1 percent to 28,500.
As prospective students begin to hear back from schools, the Office of Undergraduate Admission accepted about 33 percent of 9,000 early action applications.
BC saw an increase in applications but only accepted 29%, placing it among the more selective universities in the country.
