The Boston College Career Center changed its career fair format this year, introducing several industry-specific fairs to better connect students and prospective employers, said Francis Adjorlolo, associate director of employer engagement at the Career Center.
Students logged into Handshake, Boston College’s new career management platform, on Thursday and searched for companies they were interested in and connected with recruiters as part of the annual fall career fair, which was held virtually this year.
The Career and Internship Fair will be held virtually this year on Sept. 17. Information can be found on BC’s new online platform Handshake.
The nearly 1,000 students who attended the Career and Internship Fair this past Wednesday were met by 100 employers seeking to recruit students.
The 2019 Boston College Fall Career and Internship Fair drew over 2,000 students and 152 companies to Conte Forum on Thursday, according to Associate Vice President for Career Services Joe Du Pont.
“We have to fight against this perception that this event (the fall career fair) is not just for certain students,” Joe Du Point, head of the Career Center, said.
Success is often relative and can mean different things to different groups and individuals.
In this changing world, careers as we have known them for decades are changing. While we are still finding out where we are going, we should stop to find out what brings us to life.
