It’s been a winter wonderland lately. It seems like every day we are getting winter storm warnings and waking up to snow covering the ground. Stokes and Gasson are looking as beautiful as ever coated in white. This also means many fun winter activities: sledding, building snowmen, and snowball fights.

“Welcome to Milwaukee, The Bloody Mary Capital of the World” greets me like a familiar hug each time I arrive at General Mitchell Airport in Milwaukee. Green Bay Packers paraphernalia, Cheeseheads, and Drink Wisconsinbly shirts adorn the vendor stations lining the central walkway to baggage claim.

Warm lighting and tranquil melodies flooded Stokes Lawn, bringing some much-needed calm to the typically bustling heart of campus. Though they were only here for a night, it was refreshing to finally see some men worth trusting make an appearance on the Heights.

Even though we’ve settled into our class routines, there’s one more task we need to factor into our busy schedules: laundry day. But broken washing machines, faulty dryers, and piles of clothes atop every available surface don’t exactly create the most inviting environment.
