One person is dead after a two-vehicle crash on Tuesday afternoon in Newton.
The crash occurred at 4:30 p.m. near the Walnut Street and Judith Road intersection, according to the Newton Police Department.
One of the operators, a 45-year-old woman, struck a tree after the initial collision and was transported to the hospital where she later died from her injuries.
The other driver did not suffer serious injuries.
NBC10’s aerial footage showed a mostly damaged car and a smashed fence remaining after the crash.
The investigation of the crash is ongoing and is being conducted by the district attorney’s office alongside state and local police.
