American electronic DJ duo The Chainsmokers will headline the 2026 Modstock concert, set to take place on Thursday, April 30, according to a video Campus Activities Board (CAB) posted Thursday morning.
The Chainsmokers are known for global hits such as “Something Just Like This,” “Closer” ft. Halsey, and “Paris.” The DJ duo has amassed over 25 platinum certifications and currently has over 50 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
The bombshell announcement will be a relief for the many students on campus who were underwhelmed by the artist selection for Boston College’s other major music event, the Mile 21 Concert.
The opening act will be decided by the winner of BC Music Guild’s Battle Of The Bands. Student bands Letters In June, Perchance the Band, and German Exit will compete for the opener spot on April 24, in Vandy Cab.
The Chainsmokers will look to live up to the level of last year’s Modstock concert, where students were treated to a fantastic performance from Swae Lee in the Mod Lot as well as openers Magnolia and Caltha. CAB organizes the annual Modstock concert to celebrate the last day of classes.
Students will be able to purchase tickets on April 22 through the Robsham Box Office.
Correction (4/16/2026, 10:50 p.m.): This article was updated to correct an earlier version, which incorrectly stated the tickets would be free.
