Boston College Director of Athletics Martin Jarmond announced Thursday that, starting in December, BC will sell beer and wine in Conte Forum.
After receiving approval from the licensing board of the City of Boston this summer, Jarmond announced in August that the school would expand its beer and wine sales at Alumni Stadium for the 2017 season. Three months and six home football games later, the first-year AD has decided to further the City-approved pilot program and BC’s alcohol sales.
Similar to football, alcohol will now be available for purchase at selection concession locations inside of the arena for both hockey and basketball games. Since Conte Forum opened in 1988, beverages have been sold inside the facility’s various suites. But now, beer and wine will be available to general admission ticket holders.
Jarmond, once again, reiterated that this addition is designed to enhance the gameday experience—something that he has been striving to do ever since he took over for Brad Bates in June.
Boston University and Massachusetts Lowell are the only other two schools in the Hockey East that offer alcohol to general admission ticket holders during winter sporting events.
